Happy New Year To All!

To all who receive my posts by email, I accidentally published an unfinished post while editing this morning.  It will be out on Monday in its completed edition.  Oops!!!

The SC and Daniel traveled to my friend Diana’s home, and as you would expect, she has lace curtains, blooming flowers and a lovely sun-soaked space.  I love how the lace curtains create interesting patterns on my ensemble in this photo.  January’s Hat Attack needed an infusion of light!

I discovered this Abigail Aldgridge hat HERE years ago at The Hat Shop HERE during a NYC visit.  It’s a theatrical piece of headwear, with its asymmetrical helmet shape abundantly layered with a large piece of felt folded across its front and adorned with black beads and long tassel.

This piece of art is perfect for special occasions, including dinner out on a bitterly cold January evening.  Who thinks about the weather when I have a tassel floating across my face to distract me!

Linking up to Rebecca’s Eccentric Glamour HERE at The Clothesline.  This is her first party, and I’m more than happy to join in the fun.

Now it’s your turn to throw a little headwear love my way!

Please display your hat, headwrap, headpiece, fascinator, hair flower, headband or other adornment for your head that you adore, give The SC a JANUARY HAT ATTACK  and kindly link to Style Crone somewhere in your post. Can’t wait to see the beautiful contributions that you share throughout the next week. Participation will be open through Wednesday, January 7th.

  1. Again a wonderful, beautiful hat. Love the shape and especially the tassle. Unfortunately I cannot join you in Hat Attack. I have given up on hats after my initial trials last year. It is never going to work with me. A shame.

  2. Oh that hat is stunning – such an architectural beauty! The structure, the details, all perfect against the neutral outfit, and the cape is wonderful too.
I hope to join you once I get a post sorted, Judith – happy new year to you!
PS. thanks for clearing up the mystery of the disappearing post – I though I had imagined it! xxx

  3. Wishing you the happiest of New Years dearest Judith! I can see you are well on your way in your divine ensemble! So fabulous you look!

  4. Love, love, love the hat! I wore my Azerbaijan hat to dinner last night, it’s actually a man’s hat, as my sister who sent it reminds me, but that’s okay by me. It’s a fun hat on a cold winter’s night. Happy New Year! I have a pic of my hat on the Facebook.com/radicalaging and will share your site there! 🙂

  5. My goodness, what a beautiful setting! And the hat is just stunning – I especially love the contrast of black and white with your black gloves and beautiful cape. What a gorgeous start to the new year!

  6. Judith, I eagerly await your monthly Hat Attack posts. Truly you are my among my favorite fashionistas. I am coveting your winter white cape in this post – so striking and a wonderful contrast to the chic hat. Thank you for bringing us together each month to celebrate the chapeau!

  7. That is a spectacular piece of art for your head – the embellishments are beautiful. Gorgeous lighting for the photo, and I love pattern cast by the curtains on your outfit in the first photo. What a glamorous start to the new year!

  8. If that hat could speak, it would do so with a Polish accent — and possibly inform us it was once worn by a star of the silents, Pola Negri. Stars “had faces then…” and they wore hats!

  9. Happy New Year, Judith! Your outfits are always an inspiration to me, but this is my first time joining your link-up. Your hat is such a stunner, gorgeous details – true art! I have just started dipping my toes into the Hat Land after a few years of not wearing them. You see since I escaped from a colder climate, I truly enjoyed NOT wearing any hats for a while. But I am ready to embrace them now and looking forward to explore all the different forms, sizes, styles and shapes. I am beginning with this 1970s inspired floppy hat which is a new addition to my wardrobe, and I am already in love with it. Thank you for the link-up and all the very best in the new year! xxx

  10. this hat is such a wonderful piece! absolutely swoon worthy!
december wasn’t aver fashionable month to me and i didn’t had the time to wear a hat … so hopefully i will join hat attack next month again!

  11. Judith, you just look amazing! You are a work of art, my dear! Thank you so much for hosting Hat Attack, and reminding us all to add a little fun to our outfits. Happy New Year to you!

  12. Thank you for contributing to my link-up. I love your hats, and they serve as inspiration for my outfits as I go forward! Hope to see you back next month!

  13. Wow, I love that tassel. It reminds me of the hat you wore with the waterfall of beads. Spectacular, especially with the sophisticated cape in vanilla. Yes, the shadow effect is beautiful. Good thinking!

  14. I had the same thought as several others – that gorgeous hat is so architectural, sort of reminds me of the Syndey Opera House!

  15. The hat is stunning, no question about that, but the glamorous lady wearing it takes center stage. Judith, you continue to amaze me with your glamour and style. I absolutely love the elegant pairing of winter white and black,so classy and elegant.
