It’s been a long time since I published a post on Style Crone. I don’t even know how long! Today I’m giving it a try. Writing has been difficult, though I’ve been taking photos for Instagram. Expressing myself on my blog with the written word feels blocked and uncertain.

I took these photos in the alley by myself just before the inauguration. It was my way of celebrating. I wore a veiled spiral headpiece from my developing Pandemic Collection, a vintage little black mini dress with ruffles, vintage gloves, vintage rhinestones, and vintage shoes.

Photos by Style Crone. Thank you Daniel for the edits.

There has been so much loss and grief during these times. Today I am  hopeful for the future, as we move forward with a new administration. I remain in isolation, waiting for the vaccine, so that I can see my grandchildren after almost a year of separation. I talk most days on FaceTime to bridge the gap. I also know how privileged I am to have my health, shelter, food, and safety. For all of this I am thankful.

I hope that you are all healthy and safe. Thank you to those who have reached out to me during my absence. I have every intention of moving forward with Style Crone. This is where I began over 10 years ago, and I am devoted to the continuation of my creation.

  4. Wonderful to see you, Judith! I love your hat – it reminds me of Devo (the band). 🙂

I was so relieved after the inauguration was over – we were watching from here north of the border!

Take care of yourself, my dear!

  5. Please don’t worry about writing lots of text – the photos really do express a great deal,

Nobody is feeling their very best self at the moment – the isolation makes us more shy than usual: being in company needs regular practice!

You just carry on being your beautiful self.

  6. Following you from the Isle of Man where we are lucky to have some normality. Inspiring as ever .Thank you.

  7. I read recently that January is the hardest month for writing so well done for putting anything up. Beautiful photos.

  8. It’s so lovely to read your blog once more. I know exactly where you’re coming from and at times I too find it difficult to write my blog. Actually I mention the dreaded virus a lot. I think it is important to be real. It’s a very challenging time for all of us.

You look as fabulous as ever – love the hat – take care

  9. Glad yo’re back and trying to feel positive about the world situation. It is harder when living alone and not able to be with family as much as before this pandemic. Please keep posting your thoughts and photos. It is one more blog that lets me know that I am not really alone here either in my self isolation.

  10. Stunning as ever Judith in your black and red. I can imagine the thrill when another magnificent hat arrives to add to that pandemic hat collection.
It must be so difficult to not be able to see your little ones , my sincere hope the situation rapidly improves.
I have so enjoyed seeing many items from your vintage collection on Instagram . I also must congratulate you on your self portraits, you are doing brilliantly.
    Take care . xx

  12. Thank you! You strengthen my hope–for continued immersion in creativity, for invigorating democracy, for aging with grace. Thank you for lovely pictures of a lovely woman in lovely clothes.

  13. I watched the inauguration with joy and am also hopeful for the future. By now you have already received your first (and possibly second) vaccine, and I know how excited you will be to see your grandchildren in person. XO

  14. Love your outfit and you wear it well. Being born in the late 50’s fashion was especially important to this generation . You are an example of style to this generation of women. I applaud you !

  15. thank you for allowing women to look and feel amazing – finding their way to express themselves through fashion.

    Please continue the wonderful work.

  16. I’m so glad to see you back. You needn’t worry about being blocked or uncertain in your writing – just say “Hi!” then take pix of yourself in some delicious outfit. I’m going to be 72 in January – I am in the finishing up breast cancer treatment – only one month of radiation left — so I always look for inspiration from my fellow women. You are one of my favorites. Absolutely hot-dang fashion sense and every woman who reads your pod cast will agree. Thank you for all the joy you bring.
