Hat Attack #47 – The Vintage Tulle Chapeau
June’s Hat Attack is a tulle “crown” which was discovered at an estate sale about a year ago. I was drawn to its lightweight taupe layers and soft sculptured silhouette. It makes me feel like I’m floating when I walk.
I’m wearing it with a vintage black satin jacket in today’s photos, but as I write this, several pieces in my vintage inventory have come to mind, which would give it a different flavor. Sometimes it takes time to get to know a chapeau! This tulle beauty is like a fine delicacy waiting for an exceptionally special occasion.

Such a simple concept but so beautiful and elegant. Taupe and black are on of my favorite color pairings. On the lighter side, the seamstress in me starts to muse, hmmmm-how many yards of tulle did they need for that? Beautiful as always and thank you for hosting the linkup.
Judith –
Please post some etiquette on wearing hats to dinner, indoors, etc. When to remove, etc. It is always awkward to know what is correct these days when hats have been out of favour for so long! Thank goodness they seem to be making a comeback! PS – I also often have the same questions about gloves since some are a bit difficult to put on and remove easily. Thanks for any guidance you can give your followers!
What a delicious chapeau! Thoughts of pavlova and the most delectable desserts come to mind… xx
That hat looks dreamy!!!
Your chapeau is truly beautiful and it has a floaty feeling or flair, Judith! I love it with your vintage jacket, so classically elegant! And I would love to see what other outfits you’ll create with it.
It is indeed a delicate thing. Which makes me wonder whether hats are heavy to wear?

Choker and earring love!!
I look forward to your posting to see how you wear your hats with different outfits. I have a handful of hats that I wish to sell because as embarrassed as I am to say it, I have a big head. These are vintage hats.. Is there a site that U know of that would appreciate my hats? I have a small beautiful blue velvet hat that reminds me of you. I imagine u have sparkley blue eyes that would be enhanced with this hat. Again, I truly enjoy your postings, keep them coming.
That’s what I call a confection! What a marvellous creation. xxx
This hat reminds me of candy floss. Light and airy.
Can’t wait to see your next styling with this piece.
bisous
