January’s Hat Attack is a vintage fur felt chapeau with felt bow and trim by French designer Marcelle Agrellet, which was discovered at Fabulous Fannys HERE several years ago in NYC when shopping with Jean and Valerie of the Idiosyncratic Fashionistas HERE.

The days have grown bitter cold, and sometimes grey without the brilliant light of the Colorado sun.  The perfect time to wear my warmest hats and coats, and the multiple layers that offer protection from winter’s stark presence.  The beauty of every season can be more fully valued beneath a brim.

I’m greeting 2016 “Hat On” and wishing you all a year filled with magic and wonder.

Happy New Year

  1. Another fabulous hat from your collection! It’s not really very cold here so I haven’t been wearing as many hats as I usually do at this time of year.

    Happy New Year!

  2. A classic with panache and style, on a beautiful woman – YOU. Really like this hat.

  3. What a gorgeous piece! You are managing to stay warm in style. As a Canadian I can really appreciate that.

    Happy New Year Judith!

  4. I love the balck and taupe together. You seem a symphony of neutrals in the snow with your new hair colour!
I am linking a hot post to counter your snowy one.
Happy New Year you gorgeous person! Love you!

  5. Beautiful, Judith. And that works without the comma too. I really hope we can get together sometime this year. Here’s to 2016, happy new year!

  6. You do black and cream together so well! I have always liked that style of coat (I don’t know if it has a name, but I’ve always thought of it as “bathrobe” style). We still are not in “full winter” here so I haven’t been wearing hats very often. Wishing you the very best in the New Year XO

  7. The cream coat is divine and the hat goes so well with it. Your makeup is great as well, as the lipstick brings just a glimpse of colour to the photos. You look lovely, Judith. And is that a little snow I see on the ground? Lucky you, as here in the UK it’s so grey and wet. I suppose what we want to see with winter weather is a little bit of (dry) cold and snow but not too much, of course!

Thank you for Hat Attack. I so love meeting up with other hat lovers of the world! All the very best for 2016 x

  8. As always you look so chic, so elegant. I need to get me a proper hat, one that fits my head, suits my face and is well made. From a hat shop. Not a department store.

  9. Beautiful hat, Judith. The profile is classic and chic, and your colour palette is soothing. You are so right: bundling up in our warmest hats and colds really helps get through the cold in mind and body. I look forward to more hats this year!

  10. Judith, you just look gorgeous. That hat is so cool – I really like the interesting folding at the front. So classic, just like you! Thank you so much for hosting this wonderful gathering! I’m resolving to wear more hats this year!

  11. This outfit is the epitome of chic Judith. Your photographs are fabulous…so difficult to get good shots with the poor light at this time of year, in the UK especially.
    Happy New Year to you.

  12. Oh my! You look so splendid Judith! It can be a challenge to look glamorous in a warm coat. However, you have aced this beautifully!

Wishing you a very Happy New Year!
