July’s Hat Attack features a whimsical feather delicacy that captured my attention in England fourteen years ago while attending my friends’ wedding.  The fuchsia and black feathers cascade from a black velvet headband, covering my face and hair like a veil.

I wore this headpiece out dancing after I returned from England.  My hair was red at the time, and I received many compliments about my pink, black and red hair.  Now that my hair is silver, there is more definition between my hat and my natural hair. The only way to find out if this is true is to go out dancing once again.

Headwear has the ability to change one’s mood and enhance self-confidence.  This beauty makes me feel as though I can make all my dreams come true.  Perhaps I should wear it for a few minutes every morning as I meditate.  I’ve always known that hats have magical powers!

  3. This headpiece is so stunning and looks so good on you. Amazing how you still surprise me with new beauty after 4 1/2 years. Or more. Because that is how long I have been reading every post of you.
The scarf together with dress and headpiece is such a find!! From your extensive stock no doubt.
This week I think I can participate in Hat Attack. But in such a modest way, that I really feel a little ashamed. Nevertheless…

  4. I love everything about these photos. The pairing of this hat with the scarf and the interplay with the wind seem to be in perfect harmony. Well done to Daniel as well. You must go dancing again!

There is magic in adornment, I so agree. I’m glad I stumbled across my vintage hat so I can participate this time. Thanks for hosting, Judith.
