Welcome to Hat Attack #3.  The SC chose to be embraced by neutrals, wearing a 60’s Christian Dior beige velour hat with a swooping brim and high crown trimmed in leather, accompanied by its very own hat box.  I purchased this chapeau at an estate sale a few weeks ago.  My dear friend was running the sale, which was the estate of an aunt of his friend.   I helped with the sale, which was a first for me.  “The other side” provided a new perspective of the subculture I have loved and been a part of for years.

And yes, the earrings are leopard print!

This is my first Style Crone video, which was a collaboration with my generous friend Daniel N.  I was inspired by the fabulous Melanie of Bag and a Beret HERE, who has been featuring some intriguing videos on her blog.  So I thought I would give a new medium a try.  If not now, when?

Please display your hat, headwrap, headpiece, fascinator, hair flower, headband or other adornment for your head that you adore and give The SC an OCTOBER HAT ATTACK.  I’m excited to see the beautiful creations that you share throughout the next week. Participation will be open through October 7th.

  1. Hooray, I have been looking forward to this day! Goorin Bros. here in SF had a sample sale a few days ago. They must have heard of your event. (:

Your hat is so lovely. I think it combines a classical vintage look with just a hint of adventurer pith helmet. You would be equally at ease at an afternoon tea or exploring a crumbling ruin.

  2. I love that you sound as sophisticated and fabulous as you look, Judith! Isn’t it wonderful to hear people’s voices for the first time, and realise that they sound just how you thought they would?
And of course you look supremely elegant in your Christian Dior hat (and the box is fabulous too). Neutrals and leopard print with your gorgeous colouring and megawatt smile make for a very classy combination!
Thanks again for hosting Hat Attack, Judith. xxxx

  3. I have been attracted to beige/neutral for the first time in my life– and now I can see why- it is so chic! You look so good- timeless beauty!

  4. Judith, your voice!!!! Oh my goodness, it adds another dimension to the HAT ATTACK! You look ravishing as always and now I am craving this wheaty color goodness! XOXOXO

  5. It’s wonderful to see and hear you this month! I vote for more videos in the future. Love the hat, of course, and you do inspire me to try on lots of hats. I even bought two last week. You’ll see them soon 😉

  8. Your choice of neutral is so unexpected but also colourful in its style. It also does a fantastic job of drawing attention to your face. The hat box alone would have been worth the purchase. I shall be posting my hat soon. Thanks for hosting this.
And, I love your video! It’s wonderful to see you in motion with hear your voice. I saw you once in a clip on Advanced Style, which I really enjoyed. (Thanks for the mention 🙂

  9. What a lovely surprise hearing your voice on the video. Your fur hat is quite a find and looks great with your neutral top. Very elegant. Ordinarily I’m not a hat person but can’t resist participating this time. I’ll be back when my post is up!

  13. Cool, a multi-media blog post! You’re going to up the ante for us all.
Very elegant hat you have and how fun to have the original hat box.

  14. Oh, so many wonderful hats already! And yours is smashing, and so luxe, and with the box, too! I love the video. It adds another dimension to see movement and hear voices.

I hope to link up tomorrow if I can get some decent pictures.

  15. Love all these hats! And yours is a real special one. With the box! xoxo

Love your video, and I am also inspired by “Bag and Beret’s” video! I am trying to add them also to my blog; I have one in the making now.

  16. You’re raising the bar!!! What a pleasure to hear you as well as see you!! I recently found a beige cashmere sweater at the thrift store, all ready to be upcycled. Now I’m even more excited to see what it turns into. The hat was made for you and I agree, the box alone was worth the price. Congrats on another fabulous Hat Attack.

I didn’t get a chance to comment, but the red cape is really special. “Stunning” doesn’t even do it justice, especially with leopard accents and those boots!!

    Love you!!!! XXOO

  17. What fun to see you in a video Judith! You look fabulous, and the hat box is a treasure!!! It’s wonderful to see that your hat attack has grown exponentially in just three months. I’m hatless at the moment, but I see there’s still opportunity to link up. Our weather has been dismal, perfect for hat wearing, not so much for photo taking. I will see what I can do…if not this time, there’s always the next to look forward to.

  18. I’m thinking that hats are about to become more of a fashion statement for me this season…thanks to you and some others in the 40+ blogging community. Thanks for the great meme!!! I just bought a wool hat…maybe next month?

  19. Oh, dear Lady! Long time no drop by and I come to visit you and I find this wonderful share. I’m late here, but I’ll be looking forward to you joining me in all atack Hat come. You always look so wonderful, dear Judith.

  20. What a great vintage find and the box is just as beautiful as the hat! Great to see a clip. I’m thinking of trying one soon also. Looks like a fun selection of hats to look through!
