November’s Hat Attack was created by the gorgeous milliner, artist and blogger Carol Markel of Femme et Fleur HERE.  I have to admit that this piece of headwear is one of my all time favorites, although how could I possibly create a hierarchy within my hat collection when I have so much love for them all.  They facilitate the expression of different aspects of my personality. Perhaps I’m guilty of humanizing my hats.

I adore Carol’s love of color, texture and design and this hat is a statement piece that never fails to inspire me to live life to the fullest.  Carol is also a cherished friend, and I always visit her and her artist husband Richard whenever I travel to NYC. Not only is she talented, but she is kind, clever and generous.  I have a collection of her art, which also includes manikin heads and statement beads.  Who knows what I will discover the next time that I enter her magical trove of treasures!

Without blogging, I wouldn’t have met Carol.  I wouldn’t be wearing this piece of wearable art.  And I wouldn’t be moving through life with the unadulterated joy that this headpiece brings to me when I lovingly place it on my head.  There’s something sacred about the sense of wonder that I feel when I wear this piece of collaged sculpture.  Do you ever have this feeling when you wear a beloved piece of headwear?

It is so nice to wear art. That way you are a walking exhibition and many people can enjoy the work. Only you could wear this colourful piece so well.
As you know my hat fling is over. Hats and me.. there is not enough love between us to get by. So no contribution.

Nice hat, but not one of your best I have to say; I’m not a fan of the patchwork look, although you do carry it off with those purple gloves.

Oh yeah, I coud spot a Markel hat at 100 paces. They are uniquely her own and AMAZING!! I like that you humanize your headwear – how could one not see the distinctive personality that lives in each piece? This one looks magnificent on you. I’m finally wearing a hat too. Hurray! And it can accommodate my tower hair. Double hurray! Heh. Thanks for hosting, Judith.
