What to  write when a dream becomes reality?  I will have to reflect upon what it means to me after I’m home.  I remain in the midst of the Paris adventure with Mr. J, and inhaling every extraordinary moment.  I will let my photos speak for themselves.

Our hotel is in a neighborhood not far from the Arc de Triomphe, and is very charming, with friendly and helpful staff.

This is what I saw when I walked out of our hotel my first morning in the city.

The Eiffel Tower at night is a wonder to behold!

The very top of the Paris Opera House.

I met a beautiful Parisian woman at a cafe!

A display at Printemps Department Store.

Hat shopping with Mr. J.

The hat shop in the Notre Dame area of Paris.

What are the odds that we would meet a couple from Denver in the hat shop?

A wonderful hat shop in the Latin Quarter.

I discovered the perfect hat with the stunning Sandra’s help.  Watch this space for its appearance on November’s Hat Attack.

At the Louvre!

Another fascinating Parisian flea market vendor.

I continue to blog on the fly, with limited details and a small selection of photos from my camera roll.  I’m having a fantastic time!

Thank you to all who contributed to October’s Hat Attack, which remains open through Tuesday, October 7th.

Flying over to Patti’s Visible Monday!

Thank You for sharing this adventure, just in case I don’t get there soon.
The lady in the Parisian Cafe is lovely; the American Lady even more so!!
Your accommodations and shopping are wonderful, and the gentleman
accompanying you is truly a gallant fellow. How lucky can a girl get?
Love This Completely!! As for that couple from Denver, there-are-no-accidents-in-the-universe… Enjoy, Enjoy.

Oh Judith, I am so happy that your Paris dream has come true! Of course you would find the good hat shops, and the cool people. That is amazing that you would run into a couple from Denver in a shop in Paris (what are the odds?), but Paris is like that. On my trip there, I was in a pastry shop, and ran into a man whom I used to volunteer with at an AIDS organization about 15 years prior. I hadn’t seen him around here in that whole length of time, but then we are in the same pastry shop in Paris – that city is truly magical! Can’t wait to see the Paris hats.

C’est ci bon! Les Deux Maggots, la Tour Eiffel, your French twin, and all the rest! You must be in seventh heaven with all those millinieres – I love the one with the dog and beret in the window behind you and Mr. J.

  17. Curtise

Ahh, beautiful you in beautiful Paris, I am so happy for you, Judith! Seeing the sights, wandering the streets, meeting the people, and of course, discovering a new hat or two, all in the delightful company of Monsieur J – perfect! You are positively radiating joie de vivre! xxx

  18. Audrey Ogilvie

What a glorious time you are having, at a perfect time of year. I must point out that Le Deux Magots is not just any old cafe. It was ‘home’ to de Beauvoir, Sartre, Hemingway, Joyce, Picasso, Camus, Brecht and many others.

  19. Greetje Kamminga

Paris, it never gets boring… Have to back there again. Been there so many times, but it is beautiful and lively.
Glad you are having such a good time.

But of course! Judith goes shopping in Paris wearing petunia pink — and panels of painting in pinks are drawn to her, clamoring to appear in a photo as her background!

Just the phrase “Parisian flea market” lifts my heart! Can’t wait to see your loot!

  21. Kris Aaron

Finally Style Crone shows the Paris I want to see! Shopping! Hats! Flea markets! Real Parisian women, not anorexic 14-year-old high-fashion models! Please, keep the wonderful photos coming — I’m having a great time right along with you. Enjoy every second of this magnificent city!
    Wish I was there, too.

  22. Jan Graham-McMillen

Oh, my goodness. OH MY GOODNESS!!! How perfect. You kids are beautiful, and in the most lovely city in the world! Happy travels, my darlings! So great to see the wider world from under your hat brim!

  23. pao

ooo la la. I don’t know which is better, you or Paris, but seeing you both is just thrilling. And Sir J, and hats, and art, cafes, museums…What a wonderful world.

  24. Jazzy Jack

Thanks for the virtual tour Judith! Can’t wait to see the new hat. Love the red hat with ruffles. Looks like a sea creature! So glad for you that Paris is as wonderful as you imagined. And how amazing to see it with a lovely companion, to share and magnify all the joys. You have met some lovely people, and I’m sure they thought the same. All the best for the rest of your travels. Xo JJ

  25. Valerie

Oooh la la indeed! Don’t you two both look like the cats that ate the canary in your hats! Trust the Europeans to continue making fabulous hats. The ones in the window of Marie Mercie just about pop out of the window and grab you. Have a great time! What am I saying – you already are!

  26. Aya in Couturgatory

Oh, your photos take me right back! You look so radiant there. Thank you for taking some time and sharing your photos with us; I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us for November’s Hat Attack!

  27. Pat T-S

I am so happy that you are enjoying this wonderful trip. Great pictures and so much for you to thoroughly enjoy-shopping, food, history, people watching. You continue to be a marvelous example for all of us to be open to all that life has to offer.

i purchased the final hat you showed at a Hat Shoppe in Versailles several years ago. I wore it today as I did my errands in Lexington KY, I felt so chic!!
